Anthony Joshua Talks about his Heavyweight Loss
Anthony Joshua took his first professional ‘L’ on Sunday with one of the greatest shocks in Boxing history.
Joshua fought massive underdog Andy Ruiz Jnr after his initial fight with Jarell Miller was cancelled as Jarell had been found with drugs in his system.
Andy Ruiz had less than 6 weeks to prepare as he wasn’t even first choice
The fight itself was going AJ’s way when he caught Ruiz in the 3rd round and knocked to the floor with a sharp left hand. Ruiz came back straight away and unloaded on Joshua leaving him on his knees. Joshua was hurt and ended up going down 3 more times before the fight was stopped. Gracious in defeat Anthony Joshua has congratulated Andy Ruiz Jnr and said the better man won.
The aftermath of the fight has seen rumour after rumour of panic attacks, Joshua not being ready, Even talk of him being concussed from being knocked out from a sparring partner. The speculation has been fuelled even more by an after fight spat with Joshua’s Dad and Eddie Hearns.
